Second, there are the amazing performances, meticulous as possible, yet full of wild abandon and passion. Then, there is the sound, which perfectly captures the music and its ideal performers in a recording that is close up and personal, yet never rough or coarse. I have already written too much, for once in a while there are perfect recordings that defy criticism; and this is one of them. Stop reading, find a copy, and be transported to another realm.
