Festival Of The Sound Announces Summer Program

Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada—The Festival of the Sound  is celebrating big this summer with an incredible line-up of classical, jazz and choral music, and much more. This year is extra special with two important anniversaries – James Campbell’s 40th as artistic director and the Festival’s 45th in beautiful Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada.

Running from July 19 to August 3, 2024 at the Charles W.  Stockey Centre and around Parry Sound, the Festival hosts two to three concerts a day, free concerts on Tuesdays, a range of kids programs and music cruises on the majestic Georgian Bay. Some Festival highlights:

Opera and Broadway Favorites: Festival Friends Leslie Fagan, Russell Braun, Colin Ainsworth, Krisztina Szabo, Heather Bambrick, and others (July 19)
National Youth Orchestra of Canada: Music by Sibelius and Ravel under direction of Naomi Woo (July 20)
Elmer Iseler Singers and the Elora Festival Singers: Celebrate our shared 45th anniversaries with Carmina Burana (July 21)
Toronto All Star Big Band: A fan favourite high energy show of swing and classic big band era music (July 28)
James Campbell and New Zealand Quartet: Mozart Clarinet Concerto (July 31)
Bryan and Silvie Cheng: Join James Campbell and Pendrecki String Quartet (Aug 1)
Emancipation Day Concert: With Toronto Mass Choir (Aug 1)
Bryan Cheng on cello with National Academy Orchestra: Under direction of Tania Miller, performing Mendelssohn and Dvorak (Aug 3)
